Finding your Inspiration and Style

In the last issue we talked about stepping out of your comfort zone and sharing your gaming adventures through Virtual Photography.

After a while you're most likely going to find yourself naturally slipping into your own style, but in all reality you don't need to have one. If you happened to take a glance at my gallery you may have noticed that I take a lot of environmental photos rather than character shots and that's because my favourite part of any game are the sights and sounds.
A lot of my inspiration comes from Director Michael Bay. Those dramatic upward angles, sweeping wide angles, and you can't forget the sunsets. Watch any of his movies and you'll know exactly what I mean. He somehow manages to give every scene kinetic energy and importance to something that may seem mundane to most people.
The best thing about taking photos is being able to experiment with style or subject matter. This is why I say to just start taking photos of anything and everything. You'll discover what you like most about the photos you're taking and you will develop your own personal style, whether you prefer taking photos of characters, environments, or even capturing still photos of action scenes.
I'm just going to keep this issue short and sweet and it was really just a way to get you thinking about what direction you want to start taking your virtual photography in.
